Who is responsible for Gajendra Singh’s Death?

A reluctant farmer, Gajendra Singh who lived in a small village in Rajasthan lost his crops in last month’s untimely rain and hailstorm and came Delhi to meet Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal committed suicide in an AAP Rally. It is being said that He committed suicide because of depression as he was not able to feed the empty stomachs of his children.

Now the question rises that who should be held responsible for this suicide attempt? The government who was not able to provide aid to all those farmers who are suffering from crop failure? or The people present there in rally who were just staring at the farmer instead of stopping him from doing this?

I feel pity for the lives of all those poor and middle class people whose lives are of no value in the eyes of our government and even after their death, politics continue to take place. Their death is made a controversy. BJP and Congress blaming AAP for Gajendra Singh’s death and AAP leaders which are so called “Politicians” who had a very casual attitude towards the life of a farmer quoted during the rally- “Ab Mukhya Mantri thodi bachane jaenge sabko” (Now,Chief Minister i.e. Arvind Kejriwal won’t go and save all the people committing suicide) are now crying and apologizing in media, doing all this drama just to gain sympathy and public support. Police is defending themselves by saying that they tried their best but the AAP supporters created hurdles on their way and even AAP leaders continued to give speech even after seeing this kind of situation. This is really shameful. Now we all know the value of lives of middle class and poor people in India. #wewantbetterIndia

Fiction Friday – Zoya

“Zoya, wake up!” my mother called. “Zoya, hurry up, you’re getting late for school beta.”
“Huh?” I woke up thinking I belonged to a different world.
Then, my mother sprinkled some ice cold water on my face and I realized it was the same mean world and I had to get ready for that gloomy and rude place which they call school.
“Mummy, I think I have a headache,” I cried.
“Great, not again. Don’t give me stupid excuses for not going to school, okay?” she said.
“But, mummy, I’m really not feeling well today.”
“Zoya, please. Everyday you give me stupid excuses. Tell me, why don’t you feel like going to school?”
“It’s nothing. Fine, I’ll get ready.”
“You better get ready. You are well aware of the fact that I struggle to pay for your education.”

So, I had to go to that place again and look at the faces of those rude boys and girls.
As I entered that wretched classroom, Rahul, the guy I hated the most, started making faces at me.
“Oh! Look who’s here in school again,” he teased. “The girl who should be washing dishes in someone’s house.”
I felt my cheeks getting hot.
“Tell me, Zoya, where is your mother cleaning the floors these days? You know, actually, my mother is looking for someone to do the household chores. One of our servants fled.”

My Mind, My Body, My Choice

I am not going to give a speech on women empowerment or something similar to deepika padukone’s video. But this is just a feeling of a 16 year old girl i.e. me.

Why girls are taught shame. Close your legs, Cover Yourself? Why girls are taught how to behave? Why girls are not allowed to go outside home after sunset? Why girls cannot be pride of family? Why girls are taken as a burden? Why girls are said- “ye to paraye ghar ki ho jaegi”?  Why girls are not given equal freedom like their brothers? Why girls are not independent of their decisions? Why girls are discouraged for every outdoor activity or sports saying YOU ARE A GIRL? Why even if a rape takes place, the girl is blamed for wearing wrong clothes or bad gesture? Why a boy having many girls around is referred as CASANOVA and girls having many guys around is referred as SLUT? Why anything bad done by a boy is referred as cool and something bad done by a girl is referred as SHAMEFUL? Why boys drinking Alcohol or Smoking is FUN and girls doing the same is DISGRACEFUL? Why girls even after facing so much difficulties don’t get the respect they deserve? Why girls have to go through so much pain and yet are made feel as though by being born female, they are already guilty of something? Why girls grow up to be women who cannot say they have desire, who silence themselves, who cannot say what they truly think?

These are the questions which every girl has in their mind and i have not brought various important issues like female foeticide, girl education and all. But these are the questions of a 16 year old girl living in National Capital. Can anyone answer?

Now there is a strong urge to make a change in mindset and I request all the men to think think and think.. what is the girl’s fault? Why can’t men change their mentality so that every woman can live peacefully and happily. And i would like to ask all the girls to move forward and take the initiative for a change. Because if we won’t step forward then no one else will bother to take an initiative.

Strong women don’t play victim, don’t make themselves look pitiful and don’t point fingers. They stand and they deal. #Bethechange
