A Rising issue- “Intolerant India”

9879ed2da73cbf1d61171a30180c5004

I would just like to remind people quoting India as “Intolerant Nation”, that you’re talking about intolerance of that land where Mahmud Ghaznavi invaded the Somnath Temple still we gave him another chance; you’re talking about that land where we tolerated British for more than 200 years; you’re talking about the nation where everytime ceasefire violation is done by Pakistan and we don’t seek to destroy their nation; you’re talking about that nation where we are still tolerating the disrespectful remarks and gestures for our mother nation! There are many ongoing debates regarding this issue but people please, this nation has given a lot to all of us, if you cannot be the change; then please do not pass disgraceful remarks for the country you are living in.

PROUD TO BE AN INDIAN! #IncredibleIndia

BJP barring Activists!

image

The condition of India is very sad specially in terms of justice and order. An Australian Greenpeace activist was not allowed to enter India despite having all relevant documents. Yes. You read it right and that did happen. This is the government’s new stunt. What are they afraid of? Free speech?
Freedom of speech is something  our Constitution grants but is still subject to violation and prevention. How can we expect justice if our government itself is unjust? And this, my friends, is the bitter truth.

ISIS is not Islamic

image

Terror organisations such as ISIS are not only spreading death and chaos in the world but also insulting Islam and its followers.

They say they believe in God.
They think they fulfil Allah’s wish.
They kill in the name of Islam.
Everything they do, they say for Islam.

Really?
Does Islam asks to kill innocent people? Does Islam orders to kill children who go to school because of education? Does Islam wants the spread of terror and destruction?

No. Not at all. Islam indeed is a very peaceful religion. The Quran actually is against violence. So, the terror groups which claim that they follow Islam do not do so actually. In reality, they are insulting God by spreading wrong in the name of God.

Fiction Friday – Zoya

“Zoya, wake up!” my mother called. “Zoya, hurry up, you’re getting late for school beta.”
“Huh?” I woke up thinking I belonged to a different world.
Then, my mother sprinkled some ice cold water on my face and I realized it was the same mean world and I had to get ready for that gloomy and rude place which they call school.
“Mummy, I think I have a headache,” I cried.
“Great, not again. Don’t give me stupid excuses for not going to school, okay?” she said.
“But, mummy, I’m really not feeling well today.”
“Zoya, please. Everyday you give me stupid excuses. Tell me, why don’t you feel like going to school?”
“It’s nothing. Fine, I’ll get ready.”
“You better get ready. You are well aware of the fact that I struggle to pay for your education.”

So, I had to go to that place again and look at the faces of those rude boys and girls.
As I entered that wretched classroom, Rahul, the guy I hated the most, started making faces at me.
“Oh! Look who’s here in school again,” he teased. “The girl who should be washing dishes in someone’s house.”
I felt my cheeks getting hot.
“Tell me, Zoya, where is your mother cleaning the floors these days? You know, actually, my mother is looking for someone to do the household chores. One of our servants fled.”

Criticizing the Indian Cricket Team? Think again.

252198787330

The Indian Cricket Team is one of the best in the world. We have such good players! Our team has the most fans (because China doesn’t play cricket, duh). We did pretty well in the world cup. We won all our matches except one.

However, some people are criticizing the team for losing against Australia. This does not make sense, at all. The Australian team is number one. There is no denying about the fact that they played amazingly well. Mitchell Johnson and Mitchell Starc performed marvelously. The game was tough, very tough, indeed. But the Indians did their best. No one wishes to lose, do they?

Sitting at your homes in front of the TV, being like ‘Damn it, they should have won! What are they doing? Gadhe kar kya rahe hain? Abbey maar yaar. Abbey dhang se bowling kar. Isko toh team se nikaal dena chaiye tha. Ye kar kya raha hai captain ban kar?’
Like, seriously? This is what you got? If you were in their place, you’d see how tough it can be. There is no point in doing this. People are burning posters and abusing. Some have even went to the level of criticizing Anushka Sharma for it. This is lame. Very lame.

A true fan is one which supports in both wins and loses. If you’re angry with the team, I’m sorry to say, but no, you ain’t a true fan and you ain’t a true lover. A good game is a good game, no matter what. This is the sportsman spirit. It’s just about playing it right and giving your best. Haar jeet toh chalti rehti hai, right?

Be bold, and stop being angry!

The Need to Be Humble!

4be842b033f0414180624307fea2b0d3

We achieve a lot of things in our lives.
From getting good marks to buying a new phone, we achieve.
From being popular on social media to getting a new job, we achieve.
From being in shape to eating in new places, we achieve.
Each and every one of us is an achiever and many things that we attain are difficult to attain.
We have reached our goals with great effort.
We have accomplished our needs and desires by struggle and endeavor.

But, all our achievements and efforts can go in vain by a single action of ours. Everything can go in the drains.
Our earned respect and dignity can vanish, and people may not like us anymore.

When we take excessive pride in ourselves and the deeds we do, we become high headed.
When we try to be superior than others that surround us, people think low about us.
When we show off, people realize it.

The biggest problem with many of us, is high-esteem and ego. We think of ourselves as the best. We feel that no one is better than us. We believe too much in our values and morality which may not necessarily be correct and ethically moral.
We don’t wish to bow down and accept our mistakes. We don’t believe in realizing where we went wrong.

What does it do for us? Does it make us good human beings? No, it certainly does not. We may be achievers, but when pride and ego sets in, we become losers.

Hence, there is a need to be humble. No matter what happens, we must bow down. We just need to do the right things. Respectable human beings are always humble in nature. Humility and humbleness add to the greatness of a person.
So, next time when you achieve something, don’t brag about it.
When you fight with a friend, just bow down and let it all go.
Help the people which surround you.
Remove ego and pride from your dictionary.
Be grateful to everyone. Smile. Smile, a lot, and feel happiness.

Work hard, and stay humble! 🙂

Humans – The World’s Most Dangerous Animals

destruction-cartoon-embed

In the zoo at Lusaka, Zambia, there is a cage where the notice reads, ‘The world’s most dangerous animal’. Inside the cage there is no animal but a mirror where you see yourself.

Yes, we’re the mightiest. Yes, we have brains. Yes, we are more capable than other species. But does it give us the right to do anything and everything and obstruct the lives of other species? Does it imply that we pollute the environment and make life difficult for other living organisms? Why should we twist the laws of nature? Why are we doing this? Does it make sense? Because, ultimately, it will affect us as well. In fact, it already is.

The human population is growing and so is the consumption of natural resources. Global industrialization is at its highest. Nations are developing and people are developing. With so much technology, life is no more difficult. Life is not difficult for many of us, but it may be difficult for the generations to come. For our comforts and our luxuries, we are using up all the resources. We are filling up the atmosphere with hazardous gases. We are draining our trash in the drainage system of the world. We are cutting down our trees and forests. We are destroying the natural habitats of many species.  We are polluting the oceans and the seas. We are even adding up to the junk in space. Why are we doing this so indiscriminately? For greed? We must remember, there our other generations to come. It is high time we decide how we want to leave this planet for our future generation. Its high time now, that we decide.

In the words of Mr Lester Brown, “We have not inherited this earth from our forefathers; we have borrowed it from our children.”

Love Yourself!

8

We are so busy in our lives that sometimes we forget to love ourselves. We forget to value ourselves. We don’t realize our own worth and importance. We often forget to take care of ourselves. We forget the reason for which we were born. We forget our dreams and aspirations. We often let our ambitions go down in the drains. And what does it lead to? Our failure.

So, if you’re reading this right now, stop, look at yourself in the mirror and give yourself a flying kiss. 😉 Because, no one can love you better than you.  No one is a better friend of yours. No one knows you better. You’re the most important person in your life.
If you want to spread the love , first, you need to love yourself. Yes, you need to adore yourself before you adore someone else.

Realize your worth. You’re a precious treasure. There isn’t another you. You’re unique.
Spare some time for yourself. Yes, your life may be a busy chore but always spare time for your hobbies and interests.
Do what makes you happy. Don’t care what people say just do what you love.
Take care of your body and organs.
Don’t smoke and don’t do drugs. It’s yourself you’re harming and that’s stupidity.
Believe in yourself. Yes, you’re the best and you can do it. Don’t be a coward now.
Forgive yourself. Everyone makes mistakes. It’s alright until you don’t repeat the same mistake again.
Follow your passion. You’re living to fulfill a dream. Catch that and pin it down. Nothing is impossible.

Go ahead and tell yourself the three magical words “I love myself.”

Take care of yourself!

37285-Take-Care-Of-Yourself

We live in a selfish and an egoistic world. But we must understand, that not all are bad. In this realm of cruelty and ego-centrism, humanity does thrive. Yes, people do hate you and people talk gibberish about you. But, many people love you as well. You may not realize it, but people do care about you.

With one life, many feelings are attached.
With one soul, many threads are connected.
Many lives are intertwined and interwoven together.

So, take care of yourself! If not for yourself, then do it for the people who care about you. Do it for your parents. Do it for your children. Do it for your friends and your lovers. But please, just do it.

Quit smoking. Quit drugs. Don’t do self harm. Don’t be a coward and suicide. Visit the doc regularly. Exercise regularly. Stay fit. Stay healthy.
Why? Because people love you.

So, Take care. 🙂

Yours lovingly
Dhriti Chhabra

P.S. We love you. 😉

Acid Attack – A deadly burn

acid-attacks

The number of acid attacks on women are growing increasingly. This poses a great threat and should be dealt with utmost importance. Just a single drop of acid is enough to ruin someone’s life. The people around us judge and know us by our appearance. This act is very nasty. An acid attack does not only damage someone’s body and face, but it also takes away the liveliness and happiness of a person. It is indeed a deadly burn.

But what does the Indian government do about it? Not much, actually. The people who carry out this sinful and horrid act, are horribly fearless. Hence, there is a need for stricter and stronger laws. In India, the people do not fear the legal system at all as it is weak.
For starters, the Supreme Court of India bans illegal sale of acid. But who checks this? Does anyone actually care?
One can easily avail deadly acids. This is crazy. The authorities have very little control.
The people who carry out this act may get punished if the victim is lucky. But what about the life of the victim? What about her treatment? Her whole life is destroyed and it is very difficult to move on. The action is only taken after destruction. Measures of prevention are little.

Laws maybe there and policies may be formulated. But what India lacks at large is implementation.
Something must be done to stop this horrendous act.
